I am actually from the town where this wonderful herb originates from, Mbaise Imo state Nigeria and the herb got its name from there too. In Mbaise, the herb is traditionally used for women who just put to bed to trim their stomach down and for post-pregnancy weight loss.

How To Prepare Aju Mbaise for Weight Loss
For the tea, put a teabag in a cup, add hot water, stir for 15 minutes, your tea is ready.
For the raw;
Aju Mbaise Ingredients
1 dried wrap Aju
½ long prekese
½ big spoon uda seed
1 tablespoon uziza seed
2 medium dried fish
½ teaspoon grounded black dry pepper
1 cup crayfish
1 ½ seasoning cube
Salt to taste
Water (2 litres)
Direction
- Wash the wrap with water, don’t loosen it up.
- Put in a bigger pot
- Pour the water enough to cover the Aju Mbaise.
- Cook for 15-30 minutes to bring out its golden colour.
- Remove the wrap and drain it
- Carefully sieve into another pot and apply heat
- Then, add the cooking spices- uda seed, uziza, pepper, (all dried and grounded) as well as dried fish and washed prekese. Allow boiling for 30 minutes.
- Add salt to taste. Leave to boil for an additional 5 minutes
Finally, remove from heat and enjoy
In case you want to make yam pepper soup, when you remove the Aju Mbaise wrap, add your yam and your stockfish which has already been boiled soft.
Moreover, you can add any other dry fish of your choice. Do not add oil, no crayfish (you can use the black local crayfish). Do not add any seasoning cube. No fresh pepper or fresh meat please or fresh fish. Everything must be dry.
The raw pack can be used for up to 5 days by simply adding fresh water and boil again, extract the water for another pepper soup.

What you combine with Aju Mbaise (optional)
This is completely optional but very necessary to spice it up a little, lol.
- Stockfish/ dry fish
- Yam
- For tea bags, you can add Lime or lemon juice in your teacup.
Dosage:
For tea bags, 1 big cup in the morning before breakfast and at night after dinner.
For the raw wraps, 1 bowl in the morning before breakfast and in the night 2 hours after dinner.
Original Taste: Light – bitter or alkaline taste with a delicious aroma.
For effective result:
Drink it warm, not cold… Yes! For your tummy to feel it’s warmness.
For Teabags, the one-month diet plan that is a tea pack is OK.
For the raw, use 5 wraps in a month, one Aju with the spices for 5 days, and you will be amazed at your new size.
Eat a balanced diet and exercise too, don’t go and be eating for 3 o! Lol
